When your hair is starting to feel dry and dull, it is time to invest in a deep conditioner. Deep conditioners for damaged hair are the ideal treatment because they are more powerful than the average conditioner and work to restore the health and vitality back into your hair. It is recommended to apply a deep conditioning treatment to your hair at least twice a week, then once your hair begins to look and feel more healthy you can cut back that time to once a week. If you spend your days out in the sun, swim in a pool or color your hair frequently then you are definitely a candidate for a deep conditioner. Read
11 Best Deep Conditioners for a list of great deep conditioners for damaged hair.
When shopping for deep conditioners for damaged hair, you want one that contains keratin and says on the label that it is specifically for dry or damaged hair. Leave the product on your hair for ten to thirty minutes, depending on the extent of damage, and apply from the roots of your scalp to the very tips of your hair. For extra conditioning benefits, you can use a blowdryer over your wet hair while the conditioner is still on it in order to help hair retain moisture. Do this for fifteen minutes and then rinse. For a potent hair conditioner cocktail, combine a regular conditioner, a leave in conditioner, a deep conditioner and a hair mask into a bowl and then apply to hair, leaving on for several minutes before rinsing out.
