13 Everyday Habits That Are Giving You AcneYour hormones aren't always to blame -- turns out some of these unconscious habits might be causing your acne |
Reason No. 5: Your laundry schedule As if your dirty laundry isn't annoying enough to deal with, it could also be causing your acne. Think about it: Your face lies on your pillowcase for hours at a time, and if it's not clean, you're basically rolling around in a bunch of dead skin cells and bacteria. As for that towel of yours? If it's not fresh from the dryer, you could be wiping germs all over your newly-cleansed skin.
King suggests changing your pillowcase once or twice a week and using a fresh towel daily. Also, if you use fabric softeners made with tallow (aka animal fat — ew), they aren't going to do your acne any favors. And definitely keep in mind that a lot of detergents and fabric softeners contain fragrance that can cause irritation as well.

Ive suffered from adult acne for THE longest. I've been doing the "oil cleansing method" using a hair care oil product that only costs $.99 and I havent had a pimple in the last month. It has a combination of tea tree, castor, sunflower, olive, and vitamin e, and jojoba oils. Works for me. I don't know if soap was drying my face or what have you, but "washing" with oil eliminated my breakouts.

I've been having a lot of breakouts lately and I'm grateful for all those tips. They are really helpful since I'm guiltly of almost all of them. Thanks.
