When you envision a bun, you typically revert to the old standbys -- topknot or a classic ballet bun. Am I right? While these go-to hairstyles will satisfy your updo needs, it's time to add spring's hottest new hairstyle into your rotation: the low bun.

Yes, I'm talking about the same low bun that often gets a bad rap (it's how your third grade teacher wore her hair every day, after all). But this old-school hairstyle has gotten a major upgrade. The low bun was seen all over the catwalk during fashion week this season and it's turning up on the red carpet. Jennifer Lawrence wore a gorgeous low bun at the Oscars and even the queen (er, Duchess, officially) of long, loose hair -- Kate Middleton -- is a fan.

These articles always sound so good....in theory but I can never manage them in reality. LOL I have learned that if it says "effortless" or "blow dry hair super straight" or "take a 1" curling iron...", I may as well give it up now. LOL
