It's no big deal being Beyonce, right? It's not like she's a singing, dancing pop powerhouse married to one of the most influential moguls (
and best rappers) in America, or anything. Release an entire album, complete with videos, overnight with no publicity or prior media frenzy and shatter iTunes sales records in a matter of days? Well, of course.
With all that said, we really shouldn't be surprised that, beyond the approximately 200 million albums she's sold overall, she's also sold $400 million in fragrances. The various incarnations of Heat and Pulse have been huge hits on the perfume market, and her third fragrance is bound to be no different. Rise is about "female empowerment and finding the inner strength that makes women so beautiful," said Marsha Brooks, vice president of global marketing for fragrances in the Coty Beauty division of Coty Inc. Duh -- this is Beyonce we're talking about.
RELATED: Beyonce Hated This PictureBeyond that, industry insiders are predicting that Rise may very well hit $25 million in sales in its first year. Want to contribute? The fragrance will be launched at the beginning of February (just in time for Valentine's Day,
wink wink), and won't set you back too bad price-wise, at $19.99 for a half-ounce bottle to $59 to a 3.4 ounce bottle. The affordable pricing makes it all the more impressive -- just think how many bottles had to be sold to hit that $400 million mark! [
