Ah, the summer potluck. This time-honored tradition is the perfect way to bond with your pals over delicious summer eats and a few cold drinks. However, even though potlucks are typically casual affairs, you still want to prepare accordingly to make the best impression, whether you're the host or the guest.
If you're hosting, make sure everyone's clear on what to bring. Being a zen host is a good thing, but being way too lax could mean you end up with 10 crocks of baked beans and little else to round out your meal. Another pointer: Load up on disposable cutlery and glassware. Nothing takes the fun out of a party like a marathon cleanup sesh.
Hitting up someone else's potluck? Show up with a killer side dish and -- if you really want to get in your host's good graces -- a chilled bottle of rosé. But because you definitely don't want to be the girl who constantly shows up with a bag of chips or a carton of pre-made potato salad (snore), bookmark the supereasy stuffed cheese rolls recipe below. You can whip up the whole thing in less than 30 minutes. Besides, who doesn't love cheesy bread -- especially when it's paired with Hidden Valley Sriracha Ranch for dipping?
Epic Stuffed Cheese Rolls
Serves 8
Ingredients:
1 tube refrigerated French bread dough
3 ounces white cheddar cheese, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
2 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
Hidden Valley Sriracha Ranch (for dipping)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the bread dough into 8 even-sized pieces. Make a pocket in each dough ball, and tuck a cheese ball into the middle of each one. Pinch the roll shut completely, and face seam-side down on the baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the rolls are completely cooked through and lightly browned on top.
While the rolls are cooling, melt the butter and brush the warm butter over the rolls. Then sprinkle them with the Italian seasoning. Pour your Hidden Valley Ranch dressing into a bowl and dip the rolls into it and enjoy!
