Once upon a time we didn't have to worry our pretty little heads over modern day issues like leaving the house with a semi-charged phone -- or worse, having it peter out on us just when we need it most.
Although it may seem hard to believe, it wasn't that long ago that there was a kinder, gentler, less stressful time when going out meant leaving your phone -- and all ties to those from whom you needed a little space -- behind at home on the kitchen wall where it belonged.
No more.

These days, the need to communicate (with our voices, thumbs, photos, whatever) leads us to charge our phone anywhere there's an outlet. How bad has it gotten? Wedding designers have started to incorporate phone-charging stations into their reception plans.
And now ... a way for women to charge their phones on the go: the Everpurse, created by social worker Liz Salcedo.
"Everpurse is a system integrated directly into your bag that allows you to charge wirelessly on the go," Salcedo explains in her company's promotional video (below). "[Before], the option was either pulling out these cords and trying to charge at work or wherever I was, or plugging in a big battery while I was on the train or not having enough battery power to get through the day."
The bag's built-in charger gets its power from resting atop its own charging mat for 6 hours -- a nap that gives it a boost that lasts for up to two weeks and that will "take your phone from dead to fully charged -- twice."
Having funded Everpurse through a Kickstart program in 2012, Salcedo has since joined forces with Chicago-based bag maker, Laudi Vidni.
Famous for its customizable leather handbags, Vidni's Everpurse customers can design their own clutches by choosing among dozens of colors, trims, linings and hardware. (Prices range from $245 to $295 and the bags currently work with iPhones and the Samsung Galaxy.)

Expect a month-long wait while the bag is built but rest assured that even when you change to a new phone, Vidni will make the necessary updates to your bag for a nominal fee.
