A few years ago, Lizzie Velasquez was browsing around YouTube when she came across a video one day, titled, "World's Ugliest Woman." She clicked, and found out that the video, which had garnered more than four million views, was actually about her.
Velasquez has a rare genetic disorder that only affects three people in the world, and it causes her to be unable to gain weight and also prematurely age. She'd been bullied for most of her life because of her looks, but somehow Velasquez managed to turn her negative experiences into a positive. Now a motivational speaker, she's also launched The Lizzie Project, a Kickstarter-funded documentary about her experiences with bullying, with the aim of helping others in a similar situation.

"My dream is to leave the online community better off than I found it. Or rather, better off than it found me," explains Velasquez in her Kickstarter video. "I want to work with online places to make them safe and supportive of each other." Sounds like a good idea to us. [
