The Beacon yoga mat uses LED lights and pressure sensors to let you know when you're doing your yoga moves the right and wrong way. The mat's lights turn purple to show you the correct positions. They'll turn red in areas where you're applying too much pressure, and green when you're accurately balanced. Created by an MIT graduate for her mechanical engineering class, the Beacon's installed with smart tech that connects the mat to to laptop or smartphone via Bluetooth or USB cable. That way ever single move you make can be tracked and monitored (if you're into that sort of thing).
Right now Beacon's in the funding and production stages on invention site Quirky. If it makes it to the manufacturing stages, it could be a real game-changer. [
