Acne Breakout This nighttime cream will help calm breakouts and clear up pimples by bringing pH balance to the skin. The key ingredient is aloe, a powerful healing plant.
Aloe Pimple Potion
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons or more aloe gel
3 ounces grape seed or almond oil
1 ounce liquid lanolin
2 ounces rosewater
Directions:
"I like to take a leaf of aloe, cut the edges off with a sharp knife, peel off one side of [the] leaf, and gently scrape out the gel," says Miller. Combine aloe with oil and beat together using a whisk, electric mixer, or blender. In a glass bowl over a pan of hot water, melt liquid lanolin into the mixture. Remove from heat and cool; then add in the rosewater. Store in a cream jar. Use at night as a body ointment or face cream on any blemishes, says Miller.
Thank you--I'm all about homeopathic remedies (moreover, you'll note that a lot of the ingredients in the DIY recipes are present in products you purchase). Fortunately, have not had a monstrous blemish in awhile, but I'm now prepare if it happens again .. .
These are all great ideas, but I think some of them are a bit lengthy for a skin emergency. There are faster ways to get things to begin the healing process.
These all do sound great if you have these things in the house. I often feel like a moisturizer does not have enough moisture in it for me, so I wet my fingers then apply a moisturizer to my face. It feels cool and light and my skin is very soft. I use an Olay Night Cream, but I use it during the day, too.

I love this article. You don't need to run to the store for a new cream; just go to the kitchen.

I have heard about aloe being good for acne for a while, and even have an aloe plant. I may have to try this one!

I have never heard some of these ingredients. Not very practical for me.

Great tips but some are a little lengthy considering these are for "emergencies."
