Gold Medal Ponytail This Olympic-inspired ponytail is a sassy (and unique) way to spice up that boring ponytail you've been sporting just about everywhere. While it looks like it took months of training (much like the athletes we're stealing it from), this style will take you under ten minutes. To get the look:
1. To start, separate your hair into three sections at the front of your head -- the middle section being a wide triangle at the front (like you're going to do the Snooki poof), and two at the sides above your ears (like you're about to do a faux-hawk). Secure all sections with clips.
2. Pull all the remaining hair into a sleek ponytail, and take a small section of hair from that ponytail to wrap around the elastic.
3. With the separated hair on each side of the head, divide those two sections into two more sections and create two hair twists, twisting into each other. Then cross over the two twists, pull back towards the ponytail and wrap around the ponytail. Repeat on the opposite side.
4. Take the remaining hair at the top of your head (the middle section), and gently tease strands to get some added volume and create a polished pompadour. Secure the look with hairspray (we love Pantene Pro-V Level 4 Hairspray). And there you have it. A hairstyle worthy of a gold medal.

For me, clip up the back, pick it out a little, and go!

Good ideas. I agree with the previous comment about the rest of us with curly and frizzy hair.

Great .. for beautiful young things w/long, gorgeous hair. Now, how about for the rest of us? What about our mid-length, frizzy manes left over from Spring?

I actually like the last look the best. My hair would be perfect for this style. I think I'll try it!

I have very straight hair that now is a bit shorter than I would like. The summer means up away from my neck as I have to walk everywhere and that means heat and sticking to me. I have to say, that I have not heard of a salt spray or was it sea. I can say, the sea water does wonders for my skin and hair. I do have a root volumizing spray and will try it this year. I found that when I once got a perm, the hair may have been easier to be off the face. Just don't like the process of chemicals on my hair. The braiding of the hair also will work if your hair is long, it adds body and was a good look if you have time.

I wear this look but I get it with "hot sticks" and shaping spray. I use a freeze it to hold .Lighter if I want it to blow in the breeze.

looks are cute, but in the summer heat, i feel like they all won't hold up. i like the pinned back bangs and the tousled/beachy looks best.
