8 Products to Buy in JanuaryIf you're going to make a change in your beauty routine, January is the time to do it. Not only is it the month of resolutions, it's also a major time for new product launches. Here are the eight best beauty products to hit store shelves this month |
My favorite thing about January isn't hitting the gym (too crowded) or trying the latest juice cleanse (needed, but definitely not fun) -- it's throwing things away. Piles of papers get shredded; clothing gets donated; and old beauty products get tossed.
From the shine spray that left my hair sticky to the concealer that gave me white raccoon eyes, everything that falls on the spectrum from bad to mediocre will end up in the recycling bin. And I'll finally be able to see the back of my medicine cabinet -- at least for a week or two. You see, the thing I love even more than cleaning out my beauty bins is filling them up again.
Skip ahead to see the beauty products I'll be using this January.
And January is peak season for new products. Hundreds of launches are hitting drugstore shelves, beauty boutiques, and department stores. In fact, there are so many products to get excited about that the hardest part of writing this roundup was narrowing down the options.
Instead of choosing products that simply seem cool or work well, I opted to highlight the ones that have the potential to completely transform your routine. Some are multitaskers, some are genius inventions, and others are skin care game-changers. If the best beauty products coming out in January are any indication, 2013 is going to be a very good year.

Nice list, but hated that hair color.

I usually like Garnier hair color products, but not this one. This product doesn't cover or blend gray and left my hair oily for days. i followed the instructions precisely and took extra care in rinsing since my hair stil felt greasy. Even after washing it still feels oily, and now I have to do something else to cover grays. In all, this one was a waste of money.

The new Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids collection is seriosuly amazing! I've bought almost every color. Everyone who loves lipstick should check them out. The bold colors are so pretty, and they are opaque in one swipe. No layering needed!

The Mabelline Color Sensational Vivid lipstick is unbelievable. Finally! A lipstick I reach for more than once! This beats the expensive lipsticks all to pieces! Really! I have a drawer full of the others. I have not worn another lipstick since I purchased these. I have the Hot Plum (a pinkish plum) and Fushsia Fever, which is a perfect, bright & clear, but not overly, medium pink. Love them both. It does not settle into the dry cracks on my lips, as other lipsticks do. I was resorting to stains only-with overcoat of balm, because of that but couldn't get the shades and intensity I wanted. The color is pure and does not fade out once it is on your lips. It feels creamy and good. Smells good too. I cannot say enough about this lipstick. The color is so fabulous. Difficult to explain. It is like a stain-lipstick without being sticky as others are I have tried. Doesn't dry out my older, lips either. What I also love? The price! I will save so much money on lipstick now. However, I would pay thirty dollars for this lipstick, if that was the price, that is how fabulous it is. The thing I have noticed is how it is flying off the shelves and I got the last ones of both of these two colors at Walmart and Walgreens, so may be a little difficult to find the colors you want. Keep trying, it's worth it. I hope Maybelline makes more shades of this wonderful lipstick. Thanks to Total Beauty I saw this review and tried it. I never would have otherwise. You have saved me lots of money! Also, thanks to Maybelline for developing this lipstick. I had not purchased a Maybelline product in years, but now I will. If I sound overly excited about this lipstick , it is because I am! Give it a try, I think you'll love it too.
