Healthy Skin Diet: Eat Dark Chocolate or an Acai Bowl Instead These are two healthier treats recommended by Engelman.
Not only do acai bowls taste almost as good as ice cream (because, let's be honest, there are few things more delicious than a bowl of Ben and Jerry's), they're chock-full of antioxidants. Foods rich in antioxidant properties will have a significant impact on your skin, says Sinead Norenius, skin care esthetician and founder of the skin care line Beautisol. "Free radicals caused by pollution and UV radiation attack skin cells and cause DNA damage," she says, and these tasty little treats are powerful ammo in the fight against the premature aging process.
"Antioxidants neutralize free radicals, protecting your skin from environmental stressors like UV light, cigarette smoke and pollution," adds NYC-based dermatologist Whitney Bowe.
Better yet, top your bowl with almonds. They're packed full of vitamin E and are rich in monounsaturated fat, which is a good fat known for lowering cholesterol and keeping cell membranes strong and intact, which Norenius says is crucial for keeping skin youthful.
@dannyf54 Wine is full of sugar. You are better off having a light beer if you go out for a drink. Some studies actually say alcohol (in moderation) is good for you. Depends on who is promoting and/or funding the study. Alcohol does dry the skin though. Better yet, skip the alcohol all together, and have a big glass of water!
This article has some great points but it kinda made me feel bad when it says alcohol was one of the bad items. I dont drink a lot but i do have a drink or two when i go out! Ill have to work on that. Will wine do the same?

It's really just about balanced eating habits. I can still have milk, ice cream and cake as long as I eat more spinach and fish.

Our skin reflects what we eat. So it is very essential to eat healthy and nutritious food to keep your skin young and beautiful.

Fish is the best! Lots of water, and avoid white flour and starchy foods!

I just bought frozen blueberries to add to my smoothies. I'll need to buy good yogurt too.
