Should You Get the Brazilian Blowout? See One Reader's Hair Care ExperienceCheck out the transformation that takes place when a curly-haired TotalBeauty.com reader tries the treatment |
The Brazilian Blowout Process "The best way to explain a Brazilian Blowout," Chase said as he began the 90-minute procedure, "is that we coat the cuticle of the hair with a high dose of amino acids, creating a protective layer around the cuticle that will smooth out all the frizz."
Unlike processes that use chemicals to get the hair straight -- there's no shortage of horror stories and cautionary tales on the Internet about "formaldehyde" treatments -- the Brazilian Blowout doesn't mess with the natural texture of your hair, it just smoothes it out, and makes curls softer and easier to manage.
"This was actually a pleasant process," Courtney says, "I'm happy to report that it didn't hurt at all or smell bad in the least."

Her hair looks the same...just styled. However it sounds like she had a great experience. Maybe her hair feels better to her. I would definitely like to try a BB.

Her "before" hair is fine. It's a haircut she needs, not a blowout

I agree with LittleBunny---her hair looked good before! Looks better now, but not a huge difference.

The REAL Brazilian Blowout is amazing. My hair is, well, just think Beyonce on a bad hair day. BB doesn't have formaldehyde; the imitations (Brazilian Keratin Treatments) do. The real one is a branded product, (like Coke vs. cola), it's safe and more effective.
