Try Vaseline for that shabby chic paint look If you want a picture frame or cabinet to get that chipped-paint look you could: A.) wait a few years for the paint to actually start chipping or B.) try this cool Vaseline trick. Just apply blobs or Vaseline on the wood where you want it to look distressed (avoid any areas you'd like to keep looking pristine), then apply a top coat of paint. Once the paint is dry, sand off the Vaseline splotches (they'll be easy to spot since they'll be raised). The paint in those areas will come right off when you sand, giving you a weathered look immediately. (Source: sweetpickinsfurniture.com)
How informative! Most of these, I had no idea about. While I won't be using my pricey makeup brushes to dust my keyboard, it is nice to know that I can remove stains with hairspray and prevent rust by using clear nail polish.
In a pinch I've used Vaseline on creaky doors, doesn't last forever but when you have a newborn and no wd it'll save the day! Very interesting about the blowing out a dent haha! I've used toothpaste to clean a bunch of things, just stear clear of anything too harsh!

Good ideas - my favorite is using a blow dryer to remove dents. Guess I never heard of that. Good to know.

This is impressive! Hair spray definitely removes ink stains. I'm going to try the others. Thank you.
