Skin Care
Your Skin on SugarIt's no surprise that overdoing it on the chocolate cake can make you pack on the pounds, but did you know it can also give you wrinkles? Through a process known as glycation, sugar destroys your skin. Here's what you can do about it |
Serums to Combat the Damage Unless you've got superhuman powers, you're not going to give up sugar entirely. Which is why you may want to consider adding a glycation-fighting skin care product to your regimen. There are a number of serums available that use various ingredients to ward off sugar molecules -- and they can be applied underneath your regular moisturizer both in the morning and at night.
Dr. Brandt Skin Care Collagen Booster, $75, contains carnosine (the same protein builder Brandt recommends as a dietary supplement), as well as Alistin, a molecule that keeps collagen fibers from getting brittle when exposed to free radicals. And L'Occitane Immortelle Precious Serum, $70, fights glycation with the Immortelle flower. This natural ingredient focuses on protecting, repairing, and building collagen.

This motivates me to eat less sugar, but most of the suggested products are out of my price range.

UGH. This sucks. It's going to be so hard to cut back on my sugar intake because all my teeth are sweeth teeth lol. I'm going to look more into buying a serum that helps this though!

I did not know this about SUGAR (more than knowing it's bad for us), but knowing why is a powerful weapon. Good article. But, don't give up that POWERFUL anti-oxidant dark chocolate !!!
