8 Makeup Tips to Look Younger InstantlyYes, you can turn back the clock in the amount of time it takes to apply your makeup -- here's how |
Try This Lip Color to Look Younger The anti-aging skin care routine you apply to your face should extend to your lips. The skin on your lips is actually thinner than the skin on the rest of your face (not to mention, your lips don't contain oil glands to keep them hydrated), which causes them to shrivel and shrink as you age, says Chang-Babaian. For long-term protection, use a lip balm with sunscreen and keep them moisturized at night, she says.
In the short term, choose lipsticks in shades of mauve and pink -- these help define your lips and add a youthful rosiness without drawing attention to the fact that they're thinning (like, say, a deep red or a plum would).
Try: Covergirl Colorlicious Lipstick, $6.99, in Ravishing Rose or Darling Kiss. This drugstore buy is surprisingly luxe. The shea butter-infused lipstick glides on oh-so-smoothly, and stays put nearly all day long (just a slight touch-up after lunch, and you're good to go).

I just read the article previous to this one about mistakes older women make when it comes to make up. It specifically stated NOT to wear blush on the apples of our cheeks. This article directly following while is ways to look younger, we're being told to put blush on the apples of our cheeks. I don't know who is in charge of the articles that are written and posted on this website, but I am really starting to get annoyed with all the contradictions. I know that each woman has their own view about what is the best an what is not, but please - continuity! It seems now that every time I visit this website I read the same ol' stories or articles that directly contradict one another. I don't want my time wasted with information that is unclear, it's difficult enough being in my early 40's and dealing with the whole aging process without sites like this giving misinformation or just random tid bits without fact checking or working with the real professionals who have actual advice!!!!!!!

I don't wear any powder except Laura Geller's anti shine powers in my Tzone. Keeps my oily skin looking fresh. A good facial primer under makeup is great to fill in pores, soften wrinkles and make foundation go on great. You can even wear the primer without foundation and it's great. Sun Screen--love Cliniques spf40 for face.

Oily is good because in the end your skin stays younger longer...I get more compliments on dewy than matte face finishes. I like these tips except for the false lashes....I will go for more mascara at the roots after I curl with my 8th grade Maybelline Lash Curler!!!

I hate the term "dewy." Since my face gets oily easily I avoid "dewy-ness!"

I attended makeup seminar where they talked about the difference curling your lashes makes. I was convinced and have shared this with others since.

I honestly don't know what to believe. One article States wearing blush on the apples of your cheeks is one mistake that makes you look older, then this article with tipsto help you look younger says to apply blush to the apples of your cheeks. So many contradictions. However, there were some helpful tips that I will try!

Good tips! I especially agree with the tip to stay away from too dark lips. I looks stunning on models and young celebs, but it can be sooo aging on normal women.
