The Dos and Don'ts of At-Home WaxingYou must read this waxing guide before attempting anything from a DIY Brazilian Wax to leg waxing, or waxing your eyebrows at home |
At-Home Waxing Do: Try These Tips for a DIY Brazilian Wax ...Remember ALL of the previous steps to at-home waxing still apply for a Brazilian wax at home. Because this is a DIY Brazilian, there are a few other precautionary steps to follow to avoid bruising or burning yourself down there.
Start with a reputable wax product, like GiGi Brazilian Body Hard Wax, $17.99, and GiGi Wax Warmer, $36.99, so you don't need to keep stopping to reheat the wax.
Make sure you have a small magnifying mirror that you can hold in your hand or prop up on a chair or the floor to inspect your work. Apply the wax in small sections (no larger than one by three inches) to ensure a smooth bikini wax and to avoid unnecessary pain. Pro tip: The front section will be the most unpleasant, so it's best to work from front to back to get it over with first. Stick to the same pre- and post-waxing care as you would for leg waxing or eyebrow waxing for the smoothest, least painful Brazilian wax at home.

Great article with some very good tips, if you're face is really red afterwards, I always hold ice or a cold compress. Also because it gets REALLY hot where I live, I've noticed it's better to wax at night because your skin has several hours to recover, without makeup or sunscreen, both of which can irritate freshly waxed skin.
