Mirror, mirror on the wall, which cities in the U.S. are the vainest of them all?
6 of 11
5. Los Angeles Of course you thought Silicone City would top the list of cities obsessed with looks -- and it does in some categories. There are 4.1 plastic surgeons per 100,000 people, and Angelenos spend nearly $50 million a year on cosmetics, hair products and skin care. California has more hair restoration surgeons than any other state, and we're betting they're heavily concentrated here. Number of personal care businesses? More than 3,700 -- second only to New York City.
I don't know if I understand or agree with your methods for discerning which cities are the most "vain" or your definition of vain, really, but still an interesting read!
hahaha yea very materialistic people here in Florida. I guess it puts people under pressure when you have year round nice weather to be out on the beach!
what dumb-ass came up with the idea to do this story. all the data is almost a decade old and none of the the numbers are cross matched to account for population difference.
I wanna move to Manhattan soooo bad! Id love to have a thousand awesome salones, spas, make up stores, etc to choose from! Not to mention the rooftop yoga sessions and thousands of tings to do if you get bored! Thats my dream city!!!!!

I think people in San Francisco are a bit more laid back personally.
