Best Makeup Remover No. 1: Jane Iredale Magic Mitt, $15 TotalBeauty.com average member rating: 9.7*
Why it's great: Readers admit that they were "skeptical" before trying this product. "How could a piece of cloth get all my makeup off without soap?" one reviewer remembers wondering. But after trying it just once, former disbelievers say they were "thoroughly impressed." "I use the Magic Mitt every night and each time it leaves my skin clean and clear of makeup, including mascara," says one user. Others say it's not just great at removing makeup — it also "tame[s] acne," "leaves skin feeling so soft," "gently exfoliate[s]" and saves reviewers "a ton of money" because they don't have to keep trying and buying cleansers. Overall, "the Mitt is a hit!"

By far my fave is Nivea Eye Makeup Remover! Easy to use and the worst of eye makeup melts off. This is sometimes hard to find. I wish it was in every Drugstore and Supermarket. Nivea could make a mint! Great picks in the article.

There are some great products here (love Lush's "Baby Face"), but some are missing--like Pond's Cold Cream (gets rid of everything!) and Estee Lauder's Eye Makeup Remover.

Sephora has a good eye makeup remover much like lancome's bifacil. Not as pricey. Does a great job and is gentle on the eyes

I used to use the Mary Kay makeup remover, until I realized that Loreal makes a makeup remover (green bottle) that works just as well, and it's only like $6.

I'd like to try the Boots makeup remover. I like their rosewater toner

Lancome Effacil Gentle Eye Makeup Remover....did not remove my mascara without some harsh rubbing. I will not repurchase!
