Which Makeup Colors Really Work on YouFirst, decode your undertones with this photo how-to |
So are you cool or warm? Cool complexions usually have "blue, violet or gray eyes," says Los Angeles makeup artist Lucy Crawford. Warm complexions usually have brown, green or hazel eyes and tan rather than burn in the sun. But rules were made to be broken, so here's a second test: Hold a white sheet of paper to your jawline. If you see pink or blue in your skin, you're cool; yellow or orange means you're warm. Now remember your undertone and find your makeup colors:

I have warm undertones but the majority of what they say looks good on me have always made me look sick or washed out. No thank you!

They completely skip a whole under tone category and that is neutral! And yes, you cna be neutral....which usually means that you look equally good in warm or cool shades. I am a true neutral, having found that out working for Prescriptives back in the day and not fitting into any of their 4 color categories. LOL

This is good in theory, but I have fair skin and brown eyes, but I burn instead of tanning. So I don't fit well into these categories, plus I have red hair so several of their suggestions would just look ridiculous on me (I know because I tried them in my youth...oh how I regret that peach lipstick phase...).

According to this, I could pull off purple on my eyes. This makes me want to experiment :)

I don't think so..... my skin is pink, yellow and orange!!! I either get a foundation that makes me look like I have a mask on or I'm too pale!!! LOL
