Hair Care
Pinterest Road Test: Hair EditionOur Pinterest hair boards are filled with stunning pictures of hairstyles that we never wear. Until now |
The bow This was the antithesis to the scarf headband look because it was so difficult to pull off. And the worst part about trying to recreate this look was how the Pinterest hair tutorial made it seem so simple. After troubleshooting for 20 minutes, I realized the main problems were: 1. My hair is too long, so the middle of the bow was too big, and 2. My hair is too fine, so the bow looked floppy.
To make my hair stiffer, I sprayed some Redken Quick Tease 15, $18, onto the first couple inches of my hair and teased it. Then, after making the bow, I looped the rest of my hair around the base of the elastic and pinned it in the back. It's not perfect, but this was the best I could do.

The oversized bun also works with a sock. You cut the toe off and roll it into a doughnut shape and put your ponytail through it. (almost like a scrunchie) Then comb the hair over it and secure with a ponytail holder. Then twist the extra hair and bobby pin it. Super cute and surprisingly easy!
