Fishtail braid Why we like it: This fishtail braid, seen on Chantal Miller, MAC senior artist, is a fresh spin on a regular, plain 'ol braid.
Tip: To copy this style, follow these steps:
Step 1: Apply a mixture of volumizing mousse (try TRESemme Thermal Creations Volumizing Mousse, $4.52) and shine serum like Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum, $16 to damp hair.
Step 2: Quickly blow dry hair, emphasizing your natural texture.
Step 3: If you have bangs, secure them back with a bobby pin (like Miller did); if not, just part hair down the middle. Create a low ponytail at the nape of your neck. Fasten it with a hair elastic (optional).
Step 4: Divide the ponytail in two equal halves. Hold both halves in one hand, separating them with your finger.
Step 5: Take a small section of hair (about 1/4-1/2") from the outside of the right section and bring it over to join the left side.
Step 6: Reverse your hands so you're holding both halves in your opposite hand, then bring a small section from the left side over to join the right.
Step 7: Repeat the steps five and six until you reach the end of your braid, then secure with a rubber band. Then, wrap a small section of the unbraided hair around the elastic to cover it and use a bobby pin to secure it (optional).

I'm sorry but number 4 is a no no for me and number 8, only for a Halloween costume or a runway show, otherwise, it's another no no for me.
