The Facts About Thinning Hair and Hair GrowthFind out the causes and solutions of hair loss including hair care products that actually boost hair growth |
Hormones and hair loss Changes to levels of hormones can affect hair production and is a one of the most prevalent causes of hair loss. For example, after the hormonal shifts of menopause, many women find that their hair is thinner. Glimmer of hope? Even though new hair may not be produced, follicles remain alive, which leaves the door open for new hair growth.
In addition, the most common form of hair loss connected to pregnancy occurs about three months after delivery. Why, you ask? During pregnancy, an increased number of hairs go into their resting phase, which is part of the normal hair loss cycle. The increase in hormones during pregnancy prevents hair loss, but when hormones go back to normal levels after delivery, your hair may fall out in order to return to its regular cycle. Make sense? So some women may have a bunch of their hair fall out all at once, but it is not serious enough to cause permanent hair loss or bald spots. However, if you experience unusual hair loss while you are pregnant, this may be due to a vitamin or mineral deficiency.

I'm glad this article mentions getting thyroid levels checked. Thyroid disease is a very common underlying cause of many symptoms including hair loss. The good news is it's easily detectable and treatable.

Biotin is AMAZING! It not only helps with hair growth but it strengthens my nails. I also have to recommend viviscal, they have pills for hair thinning. I don't have that problem but I take the other set of pills of viviscal for hair repair and they have helped, not only with my hair but my eyelashes have grown longer. An amazing side effect!

Also MinoxiBoost is a very helpful product that helps remove the sebum "scalp scum" of your scalp giving your Minoxidil product the best opportunity for growth. See for yourself; just do a search on it ;)

Another great article. Adequate protein is also essential. It's easy to get enough protein if you eat animal products. If you go vegan you have to put a bit more effort into getting enough.

I'm happy to see this article, and that more attention is being paid to female hair loss. It is a devastating issue to deal with, and I hope to see more advice like this.
