Tip No. 3: Use dry shampoo to save time (and water) Chris Megia, hairstylist at the John Frieda Salon in Los Angeles, says when you don't have time to jump into the shower, combat oily hair by using a dry shampoo. First, spray it onto your hair; then, with a paddle brush, blow dry your hair in sections. The dry shampoo mixed with the natural oils of your hair imparts some oomph into otherwise flat strands.
