Our Favorite TSA-Approved Beauty PicksThe dreaded 3.4 oz. liquid rule doesn't keep us from traveling with carry-on gems |
Emily Popp, Associate Editor 1. MOR Lip Macaron in Peach Nectar, $10
The peachy smell of this stuff is so, so good. My lips get really chapped in the dry, stuffy airplane air, and this instantly does the trick. The tin is thin and small and hardly takes up any extra space in your carry-on.
2. Tocca Rollerball Perfume, $20
Most perfume bottles don't meet the TSA standards, but a travel-friendly rollerball is the perfect alternative. I love all the Tocca scents; from "Colette" to "Florence," I've tried 'em all.
3. Origins Make a Difference Plus+ Rejuvenating Moisturizer, $39
Back in the day I never used to travel with a facial moisturizer. Big mistake. Being stuck on vacation with extra-dry skin is the worst. Now I always bring this one from Origins, which is one of the most hydrating moisturizers I have ever used. A few dabs and my skin glows.
4. C.O. Bigelow Lemon Anti-Bacterial Hand Gel, $1.50
Airports are notoriously scuzzy, so I feel naked if I don't travel with a bottle of hand sanitizer. As soon as I put this on I just feel cleaner.
5. Benefit BADgal Mini Mascara, $8
Benefit's mini-version of their BADgal mascara has been my go-to when traveling for years. I put it on right before I land so I can walk off the plane looking at least semi-put-together.

Nice article, but the general ideas are more useful than the actual products listed: buy travel versions of your favorite products, switch to solid versions if you can (lip balm, moisturizing balms, solid perfumes). I get so many samples from my subscriptions that I just sort them out into categories (body lotion, face wash, etc) and then pick out a few to use on my trip. They're so tiny that they usually only hold a few days' worth of product, so I can throw them out before my trip home.

I think this is really useful when I'm not in the mood to subdivide all my stuff for travel.

Love this for the upcoming vacation season! I have so many samples from the boxes I receive so I am ready to go somewhere and use my travel products.

I thought that nail polish is not allowed on-board because it's flammable.

The only info useful to me in this article is about the moist wipes. I manage easily by substituting non-liquids wherever possible (solid deodorant, concealer balm), and putting necessary liquids into travel bottles or buying travel sizes.

interesting to see what "must-haves" ladies choose for travel. Aren't aerosols (like dry shampoo) and flammables (like nail polish) prohibited in hand luggage?
