Our 7 Favorite New Eyeliner MarkersFrom skinny pens to chubby markers, these felt-tip liquid liners let you draw every kind of line imaginable |
Simon Doonan, the Creative Ambassador at Large of Barneys New York, once told me that "every woman should have a signature flourish -- crazy sunglasses, neon hair, something special." (His is a floral shirt -- he's unrecognizable in anything else.)
Before he even finished his sentence, I started to feel like the most boring, Plain-Jane woman in the world. (How could I go on living without a signature flourish!?) Then, I realized that I do, in fact, have a signature flourish: my cat-eye liner. It's subtle, but it's there.
The key to my look is the eyeliner itself: I'm partial to eyeliner markers. Over the years, I've used everything from pencils to liquids to gels, but I recently realized that markers give you the cleanest line, are the easiest to apply, and are incredibly versatile. You just have to choose the right one, and you can create just about any eyeliner look you want.
Clearly, I'm not alone in my assessment. A bevy of new eyeliner markers have popped up in drugstores and on Sephora shelves alike, and I've tried them all -- seriously. Here's a breakdown of the best new eyeliner markers -- and my favorite liner looks you can create with each one. Of course they can all be used to draw the perfect baby cat eye -- but I suggest you find your own signature flourish.
