The Serum Revolution Comes to Body CareYou have a medicine cabinet full of face and hair serums, and now those treatments are available for your body |
A Bit About Serums Serums have been around for decades. When skin-care companies started using vitamin C and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) in skin-care products, they needed to deliver these ingredients in concentrated ways. Creams just didn't work -- the active ingredients were literally drowning (there was so much water in the products, the vitamins and acids couldn't do their jobs). So serums -- lighter treatment products designed to be layered underneath moisturizer -- were developed. Serums allow a concentrated dose of ingredients to penetrate the skin to fight wrinkles, zap acne, brighten dark spots and so much more.
