10 Genius Makeup Tips for Hooded EyesOpen up drowsy-looking lids with these techniques (and don't worry, no eye makeup trend is off limits) |
For Long, Flirty Lashes Lauren Graham knows how to spotlight her baby blues. If your skin folds over the center of your eye like Graham's does, it's essential to bring height to that area, which you can do with sky-high lashes. The key is focusing on long, separated lashes and an inner eye highlight. The overall effect is youthful, lifted and sexy.
How: Take a barley-colored cream shadow stick like Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in Bountiful Beige, $17, and blend it into the inner corner of your eyes. For extra twinkle, run a bit along your lower lash line as well. Blend out any harsh edges with your finger, and then allow the product to set for two to three minutes before moving on.
Next, line your upper lash line with a felt tip liner, lifting your lid to give you a little extra space. Once dry, let go of your lid and curl your lashes -- this is the best way to open up hooded eyes in seconds. Add two coats of lengthening mascara to your top and bottom lashes. For even more of a wow factor, apply three individual false lashes to the outer corners of your eyes (try Make Up For Ever Single Eyelashes, $16).
