Best Hair Care Products: Color-Safe Shampoos
- Posted by Kristen on April 19, 2010 at 05:29PM
So I got a haircut recently (not one of the daring 'dos seen in these photos ), but a nice little update. Unlike some people that get the whole hair shebang (cut and color) done in one sitting, I prefer to space it out. Why? 1. I get antsy being at a salon too long. 2. It's a big chunk of money to cough up at once (which reminds me of this fab luxe vs. less hair care round up -- it's not to be missed). 3. It's fun to double the just-walked-out-of-the-salon look. 4. I have been going steady with my colorist, but I cheat on him with other stylists for haircuts (sorry, Rick!). 5. Getting a cut usually makes my color look better and visa versa.
That said, I so need to get my color done. I just dread the dent it makes in my bank account, but hair is a permanent accessory, so in the end it's worth it (maybe someday I'll get on board with the at-home hair color thing, and when that happens, I'll be sure to consult these tips). But I do stretch my appointments out for as long as possible, which is only doable because I use quality, color-safe hair products -- like the ones on this list of Best Color Protecting Shampoos. If you don't already use one, now's the time -- they'll help your color last and therefore save you moolah
