"Sex and the City 2" Stars Show Off Curly Hair -- Learn How to Copy Their Looks

For years we've all looked to Carrie et al. for all things fashion and beauty (see their countless makeup and hair looks that inspired us). Most females with a pulse dig "Sex and the City" and are anxiously awaiting the sequel. From the posters to previews we've picked up on one noticeable hair trend: sexy waves. Here are some tips on how to recreate them.
More of an uptown girl? Get Charlotte's polished waves
Tools you need: Use four heat-safe S-shaped rollers like Mycurls, $89.
Steps:
1. Part your hair in the middle, from the front of your hair all the way to the nape of your neck. Split each of these sections in two by tracing a line from the crown of your head to behind your ear. This will create four even sections.
2. Starting on the left side, backcomb the roots about two centimeters from the roots and spray KMS California Curl Up Bounce Back Spray, $9.79 onto the section of hair. Roll hair around a curler towards your face, and secure it just below your cheekbone. If you're using rollers, clamp your flat iron directly over the curler for 10 seconds.
3. Repeat step two on the opposite side and backcomb the roots about two centimeters from the roots and rolling away from your face, and the back two sections. Allow hair to cool for 15 minutes.
Result: After hair has cooled, remove all curlers and brush lightly throughout your hairs top layer. Apply a gloss spray to the ends and secure into place with a hairspray like LOreal Paris Elnett Stain Hairspray, $6.99 and massage hands lightly through the top area to loosen up style.
Love Mr. Big and big curls? Go for Carrie's waves
Tools you need: Large hot rollers (try Remington Colossal Curl Setters, $30) to create jumbo and extra-jumbo sized spirals, or S-shaped heat-safe rollers (try Mycurls, $89).
Steps:
1. Side part your hair from hairline to crown. To make three even sections, section off the back of hair from crown to behind both ears.
2. Starting with the back section, split the section in two vertically. Spritz curling spray like KMS Curl Up, $13.99 onto one of these sections and roll hair around a curler, directing the hair away from your face. Continue rolling the curler to just above the level of your cheekbone before securing it. Repeat with the other back section of hair. On the left side, divide the hair into two vertical sections and repeat the steps above, directing hair away from the face and securing the second curler below the cheekbone area. Repeat on the right side.
3. If using S-shaped rollers, clamp a flat iron (try Cloud 9 Iron, $14.50) over each Mycurl roller for 10 seconds then allow hair to cool for 15 minutes (if using other curlers, just let them cool). While hair is cooling, use a tail comb to lift the crown area up and spray with hairspray to create more volume while setting.
Result: After hair has cooled, remove all curlers and run your fingers through your hair. Apply a gloss spray to the ends. To set the look, spray LOreal Paris Elnett Stain Hairspray, $6.99 onto a makeup brush and glide down through your hair, following the direction of the curls. For a more tousled look, spray Bumble and bumble Surf Spray, $22 from the mid-shaft of your hair down and blow dry with a diffuser.
Perfect sexy hair with a twist? Try Samantha's wavy look
Tools you need: A flat iron with curved plates like Remington Wet 2 Straight, $27.99.
Iron hair while damp, wrapping each section around the rounded edges of the iron to create flipped out ends and a wavy texture.
