Tracey Cunningham, Redken Creative Consultant for Color, says that this summer we should go for natural hair color and embrace our roots (see some examples of what she means above). She says: "Darker roots, with the rest of the hair one [to] two shades lighter, portray a natural, edgy look and exude a beach-feel -- perfect for summertime unwinds."

On the one hand, I like this idea because when it's summer, I'd rather be at the beach than getting my roots touched up, but I wonder if I'll feel the same when I've got a couple inches of dark hair in July. What do you guys think? Will you try out this trend or are you going to stay faithful to your salon appointments?
