Step 2: Secure hair back
Loosely pull your hair back into a low ponytail, leaving a few face framing pieces hanging. Then separate the pony into two sections -- one just a tad thinner than the other. Take the thicker section and loop it around into a loose bun and secure it with bobby pins (try Scunci Bobby Pins, $1.99). Next, take the hanging section and loosely braid it. When you reach the end, secure it with an elastic, then wrap the braid around the bun. Secure the braided bun with bobby pins. Keep in mind, it's supposed to look messy so don't make it look perfectly symmetrical.

Step 3: Set your style
Wrap your face framing layers around a large-barreled curling iron for just a few seconds to give them a soft, wavy effect. Then set your entire style with a finishing spray like Nexxus Maxximum Super Hold Styling and Finishing Mist, $7.97.

Trend: Aqua blue eyes
Last time you tried wearing blue eyeshadow, you also wore leg warmers. We know. It can be a scary thought. But not if you choose the right hue and wear it tastefully, just like Sarah Jessica Parker did here. Aqua blue can make your eyes stand out and it's the perfect look for a beach party or a night out. Plus, it doesn't take much effort if you follow these steps

Step 1: Even out your skin tone
Start with a tinted moisturizer like Hard Candy Sheer Envy Tinted Moisturizer, $8 that isn't too opaque, but will hide any discoloration. Then dust your face with a loose powder like Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Luminous Matte Pressed Powder, $11.99 to set your tinted moisturizer and make your skin look flawless, but not cakey.

Step 2: Apply eye makeup
First prep your eyes with a nude-colored eyeshadow that is slightly iridescent, then apply an aqua blue eyeshadow from your lash lines to your creases. Next, sweep a lighter blue eyeshadow onto the lower lash line (for both colors buy an eyeshadow duo like Hard Candy Kal-eye-descope -- Baked Eyeshadow Duos in Make Believe, $6). Last, line the inner rims of your eyes with a black eyeliner (try CoverGirl Perfect Point Plus Eyeliner, $4.99), making a thin line to simply accentuate your eyes. Then coat your lashes with thickening mascara like CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara, $9.94 to make them pop. Bonus, both the mascara and the eyeliner sell as a duo pack at Walmart.

Next: Add blush
