What's the secret to pulling off red lips and red hair?
"I've always done it since I was a teenager. I like the drama. I choose the lipstick color more based on my skin tone. I use reds that aren't too blue because I'm so fair -- they look a bit odd. I need an orangey undertone."

How do you keep your skin looking so amazing -- are you a sunscreen addict?
"I use it every day. It's been drilled into me. With everything we know, it seems silly not to at this point. I put it on my face and chest, and I try to remember to put it on my hands and arms -- especially when I'm going to be driving. I'm using one from Dermalogica right now, and there's one from Skinceuticals I love."

What's your post-Joan hair color plan?
"I went a little more strawberry. I'm using the [Clairol Nice 'n Easy] Sandy Copper Blonde. I wanted to warm it up a bit. I'm enjoying this for now. I'm going to keep it until I have to change it for a role.
Do you have any tricks to make it last?
"Every time I color my hair it starts out vibrant, and over the course of a month or six weeks it starts to change. But I like the different tones as it fades. I try to wash it only every other day to keep the color longer. And if I'm going to be out in intense sun, I'll wear a hat. I'm easy about it -- not too fussy."

What do you miss or not miss about Joan's beauty routine?
"I do not miss getting that hair done. But makeup was quick and easy."

To many of us, Christina Hendricks will always be Joan Harris from "Mad Men." Fortunately, the real life Christina Hendricks isn't too far off. She's a vivacious redhead who's charming and undeniably likeable -- and just a little shy.
For the sixth year in a row, Hendricks is nominated for an Emmy award for her work on "Mad Men." And while we're hoping she finally brings home the prize, we're equally excited to see what she wears -- and how she styles that infamous red hair -- on the red carpet. Read our interview with Hendricks for some hints.
