If your idea of party makeup is to slap on some lipstick and go, dress up your lips with a metallic finish. The secret behind the uberglittery lips from the Rodarte fashion show was a mixture of lipstick and lots of loose glitter. While a custom made metallic lipstick sounds awesome, anyone who's ever played with loose glitter knows that you'll be finding glitter all over the house for the next five months. And in the case of a glitter lip, you'll probably be eating it, too.
Fortunately, there are lipsticks already blended with glitter. "Choose a metallic lipstick with very fine glitter, [as] big chunks aren't flattering," says Luque. For an icy pink, try NYX Cosmetics Wicked Lippies in Power, $6, or if you're looking for a more understated nude, try Lipstick Queen The Metals in Nude Metal, $24.
If extra sparkle is not your thing, try copying Kate Beckinsale's lit-from-within glow fom the 2014 American Music Awards. The gleam was focused on the center of her face -- eyes, lips and tops of the cheeks -- making it seem more natural and less made up.
Mix Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base, $48, into your regular foundation, then apply it as a highlighter along the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, Cupid's bow and center of the chin. Keep the rest of your makeup simple (rim your eyes with a metallic smoked-out liner like Aerin Cool Gel Eyeliner in Essential Brown, $28, and finish off the look with a shimmery pink gloss like Charlotte Tilbury Lip Lustre in Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, $22.
