To celebrate Earth Day, Charli and I got manicures and pedicures at Recess, a new eco-friendly salon in West Hollywood. (OK, OK, it's a bit of a stretch for Earth Day, but it's better than not acknowledging it at all, right?)

The salon is in the process of being certified by LEED (Leaders in Energy and Environmental Design) and uses organic, biodegradable and natural products whenever it can. Most of their polishes are made by Zoya, which are free of formaldehyde and other toxins.

The manicure and pedicures were great. We got to select our own scent for the water soak and massage lotion (I went with a light and natural-smelling rose) and the staff was super friendly and efficient. Check it out if you're in the area or look for a green salon in your town. It's yet another way to green your beauty routine.
