As I developed a big love for the art of dance in college -- it was my minor -- (speaking of "Big Love", see which character from that show made our worst-hair list) I also learned how undervalued it is. Until now … whether you love or love to hate reality TV, the resurgence of talent competition shows a la "Star Search" and the major success of "Dancing with the Stars" -- now 10 seasons deep -- has America finally appreciating dance.

While I'm partial to "American Idol's" dance counterpart, "So You Think You Can Dance" (get "American Idol" makeover secrets here), I'll occasionally tune into "DWTS" -- not for the dancing -- but to see hair and makeup hits and misses, and watch for style comebacks of train-wrecked reality stars (like, ahem, Kate Gosselin's much-needed hair makeover -- see photo below). Best: Kate Gosselin, Season 10

We know, we know, you never thought you would see Kate Gosselin on any kind of "Best" list when it came to hair, but ladies -- the day has come. While she may be rigid and awkward on the dance floor, her hair is certainly not. Read on and catch a peek of that old spiky mess she used to sport.
