- Posted by Sarah on February 9, 2009 at 03:54PM
Were these celebs' makeup artists taking revenge? Maybe. But at least their hairdos weren't among the worst hairdos we've ever seen ... Still, when you've got a paparazzo in your trash can, may I humbly suggest celebrities just say NO to looks like these ...

6 Best & Worst American Idol Looks
- Posted by Kristen on February 5, 2009 at 04:17PM
I know American Idol is a singing competition (der), but who votes just on voices? Impossible. It's more about who's got good hair, and who's got bad hair (like all these freaky people, rivaling Sanjaya's insane mohawk). Makeup-wise, some of the ladies were never taught to avoid these major makeup no-nos. Okay, okay, I'll admit that they're not all bad. Katharine Mcphee did get a Neutrogena (see their best and worst-rated products here) contract post-Idol, after all.
So, what do you think of my best/worst gallery here?
Would You Take Plastic Surgery Advice from Joan Rivers?
- Posted by Sarah on February 4, 2009 at 04:12PM
Maybe I need to get off my feminist high horse, but I think Joan Rivers' new book, "Men Are Stupid And They Like Big Boobs: A Woman's Guide to Beauty Through Plastic Surgery," is offensive to women and men. Let me explain:
Are These Women "Hot"?
- Posted by Sarah on February 3, 2009 at 04:28PM
Last week on "The Office," the staff spent the day (and most of the episode) debating whether Hilary Swank was hot or not. Totally absurd -- but it sparked a debate at my apartment about "hot" vs. "attractive" and what those two terms even mean.
Which brings me to these questionably hot celebrities. I think they're hot ... but do you? Which is your favorite/least favorite? And would you actually try any of these styles?
Have You Tried? 13 Best Hair-Removal Products

Foolishly thinking there was something better out there than this little razor, I tried an at-home waxing kit. (Ouch.) Then I moved on to a Brazilian wax. (Double ouch!) Now, faced with the epilator (or self-mutilation device -- I'm not sure) in this Bliss/Philips kit, I'm thinking I should go back to plan A. (Sigh ... maybe some of these products will help.)
Does Cheapie Drugstore Wrinkle Cream Work Like Expensive Stuff? We Tested!

You know what really sticks in my craw? When I find out Dove anti-aging eye cream works just as well as Lancome (which costs $20-$40 more). Don't believe it? This side-by-side comparison ought to convince you ... and if not, these before-and-after photos will.
When Curling Irons Attack ... and other STUPID beauty accidents
- Posted by beth on January 29, 2009 at 04:26PM
Check out how I burned my arm this morning on my curling iron. Stupid, stupid. Then I used this eyeliner, which I forgot kinda-sorta gives me pink eye every time I wear it (but it's too pretty to chuck). I'm already starting to itch.
Copy Kate Winslet's Beauty Look From the SAG Awards

Though I didn't watch the whole ceremony, I did catch the red carpet parade. And honestly, I can't get over how stunning Kate's been looking (agree?). Tousled updos (similar to the ones in these photos) and natural, but glam makeup looks (see a similar look recreated in this how-to video) have been serving her well. Here's the breakdown on how her glam squad created last night's look:
Have You Tried the 21 Best Body Washes Ever Made Yet?

Dunno about you, but the only thing that gets us going in the A.M. faster than a pot of coffee is one of these class-act body washes. If you share our sentiment, we have seven words for you: Don't follow with these icky body lotions. (Talk about a buzzkill!)
