Newly Rated Products Alert!
- Posted by Kristen on June 2, 2008 at 04:04PM
Just wanted to share three product reviews I just wrote. All of these got above a seven, so they're definitely worth checking out. And it reminds me that I need to get more of the Crabtree and Evelyn lotion; I'm all out and it's really become a staple.
Candle for My Soul

When it's a gloomy, rainy day or I'm just feeling less than cheerful, a sniff of my Tocca Feu de Touch Candle, Gardenia makes me feel peppy again. The candle has a fresh, but truly feminine scent that is intoxicating. Love it. This, a bubble bath (a recent fave bath product is L'Occitane Honey & Lemon Delicious Bath) and some Peanut M&Ms, and the world is a great place again. What beauty products turn your frown upside down?

Our third stop along our beauty blogger tour of Los Angeles was at brow guru Anastasia's flagship studio in Beverly Hills (Anastasia is on TotalBeauty.com's expert panel, FYI). The bloggers were beyond thrilled at the chance to meet Anastasia and have her walk them through her signature method for shaping brows.

Attention Brides!

Wedding season is upon us and as I have shared with you, my sister's big day is quickly approaching. Being the wonderful big sis that I am, I booked her hair and makeup pros for the day -- wasn't really an option on what my matron-of-honor duty would be given my career. I have already shared with you her makeup trial (where we decided false lashes on her outer corners were a must) but now I want to share her hair trial. We met with Erika Gunn, stylist at Madison 101 salon in Pasadena, Calif. My sister knew she wanted a half-up 'do (which according to other stylists like Nelson Chan, owner of the Nelson J Salon in Beverly Hills, Calif., and member of our expert panel, is a huge trend for brides this season). Erika nailed the look my sister will wear on her wedding day on the first try, which made my sometimes picky sister squeal with delight. Check out her look -- gorgeous and romantic, right? If you're looking for an ideal style for your wedding, check our Picture-Perfect Bridal Hair story. Hopefully your stylist will copy one of these and you too will get a beautiful look on the first try.
Does Food Affect Your Skin?
- Posted by Sarah on May 22, 2008 at 05:08PM
You seem to think it does. On our homepage poll, 92 percent of you said you think diet affects your beauty. I'm inclined to agree but I have to admit I don't really do much for this beyond drinking lots of water and limiting my caffeine intake. What do you eat or not eat to have gorgeous skin? Are there any foods that you swear cause your breakouts (even though many doctors say that's a myth)? Or do you have a diet regimen that gets skin glowing? Please share!
Get Gorgeous Curls!
- Posted by Sarah on May 28, 2008 at 04:58PM
I recently reviewed Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Curl Creme and absolutely loved it. Usually I go for a straight or wavy look (my hair is naturally wavy in parts and straight in others -- it can't seem to make up its mind) but when I want to go curly, I reach for this. If you want defined curls, check it out. For more product recommendations for curly hair, see this article.
