This time of year, I dream of the beach. OK, I'm literally obsessing over the beach. How many days are left until Memorial Day anyway? The fact that I can't swing a spring break trip to a surfside destination this year isn't helping either. So, in an effort to keep me (semi)-satisfied, I've turned to these beachy beauty products that remind me of summer days and the beauty trends that go with them...coral lips, beachy waves -- you get the picture...
Here are four new products (and one perennial fave) that are holding me over till the snow clears, though I'm sure I'll continue to use them even once summer's started.
Chantecaille Sea Turtle Palette, $79 Just staring at this palette puts me in a good mood. But the soft, beachy-colored shadows and pinky-coral blush help to wake up my face, too. Bonus: A portion of the proceeds go to an organization that helps preserve marine life.
Benefit Hoola Bronzer, $28 This box o' bronzer has been completely redesigned so it's easier to use on the go. And, what's even better is its perfect bronze shade that makes your skin glow in a totally realistic way. I sweep it all over my face and onto my neck, chest and shoulders and I instantly feel that post-summer day, sun kissed vibe.
Philosophy Salt Water Taffy Set, $25 Maybe it's an East Coast thing, but eating (or even smelling) salt-water taffy reminds me of childhood days spent at the beach. And this yummy-smelling collection, which includes shampoo, conditioner and body wash is perfect for anyone who wants to pretend like it's summer -- in February or beyond.
Frederic Fekkai Coiff Oceanique Toussled Wave Spray, $23 Since I'm going to have to wait a while to get beach waves from real ocean water and air, this styling product is the next best thing. Spritz onto wet hair and twirl strands around your finger as you blow dry for a sexy, surfer girl finish.
Bobbi Brown Beach Body Oil, $55 One whiff of this awesome oil transports you to mid-July. And, it not only smells divine (like Coppertone-meets-coconut) but its thick formula goes a looong way and works wonders on rehydrating skin and imparting a perfect glow. No wonder it sells out in minutes when it hits Bobbi Brown counters!
Do you have any beachy faves? (I know a girl who wears
Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Oil, $12 as a moisturizer year round!) And, what about perfumes? My
life has pretty much been defined by these four fragrances.
