OK, maybe I have a couple (ok, a lot) of years on her but Taylor Swift's makeup at last night's Billboard Awards was
so beautiful that I just
had to go to the source and find out how they did it -- especially those eyes!
Not only was her face beyond gorgeous but she looked stunning in a sequined Elie Saab dress and ended up having a pretty good night -- Joe/Jake's ex went home with both "Album Artist of the Year" and "Country Artist of the Year" awards. Not too shabby.
But enough about her hardware -- let's get down to how we can copy The CoverGirl spokesmodel's magnificent makeup look with the how-to from the woman responsible for the look, Lorrie Turk. She says that "The pastel colors we used to frame Taylor's eyes were really a reflection of the gorgeous palette in the beading of her gown."
Step 1: "I started her eyes by brushing on
COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadows in French Vanilla, $3 from her lash line to the crease and in the inner corners of her eyes. From the crease to just below the brow bone, I used Knock Out Pink, which really sets off her blue eyes. I used a little
COVERGIRL Liquiline Blast Eyeliner in Black Fire, $7.49, to line the upper lash line and finished the eyes with
COVERGIRL LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara, $6.49."
Step 2: "To perfect Taylor's already smooth complexion, I used
COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation, $10 and a touch of
COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Plumberry Glow, $3, on her cheeks."
Step 3: "To finish Taylor's Billboard Awards look, I used
COVERGIRL LipPerfection in Tempt, $5. It's a gorgeous vibrant pink -- perfect for spring and summer."
Ta-da! There you have it, straight from the source. I'm loooving the eyes. What about you? Oh, and, for the record, here's a little about
why I hope Taylor's setting an example for other young stars.
