The Real Deal: As regular readers of this column know, my 9-year-old daughter has waist-length hair that, while beautiful, is also the bane of my existence. Keeping it in good shape is a big job. So is combing it out post-shampoo. To explain how much I love Biosilk, I'll just say that if they stopped making it, I'd make my kid (finally) cut her hair -- it's that good. Snarls, tangles or whatever you personally want to call them, all but dissolve when this magic potion touches them. It makes combing through them a pleasure, imparts a nice sheen to the hair when it's dry and, as an added bonus, smells pretty good too.

The Upshot: It's not cheap, but a little goes a long way and the bottle seems to last forever. Aw, whom am I kidding? Even if it cost much more I'd sink my money into this product. It's a serious help and I shudder to imagine the combing task without it.
