The Product:
Strivectin-TL Tightening Neck Cream
The Price: $89
The Promise: "Hydrating neck cream tightens, firms, and returns youthful neck and jawline contour. Protein tighteners and our patented NIA-114 take your neck to new heights. Only StriVectin has NIA-114, our proprietary form of vitamin B3 (Niacin) discovered during skin cancer research and backed by clinical trials, to help renew skin strength. Skin's ability to fight sagging, hold natural collagen, and moisture improves so you see more lift."
The Real Deal: I've been obsessed with having a non-saggy neck since I was a kid. I distinctly remember reading some beauty book my mom had lying around that said you could keep your neck firm by putting your head back and pretending to kiss the ceiling 10 times each day. I've been doing that since I was about 11. Thing is that now I worry that making that pucker face over and over again is doing a number on the lines around my lips. Sigh. But, being obsessed about not developing a wattle is not what made me try this new Strivectin cream -- it was the before and after photos on their website that convinced me.
These pictures clearly illustrate a marked improvement after eight weeks of using the cream and, while I've only been using it for three, I already feel like my neck is more taut and that the skin under my chin is much more hydrated.
The Upshot: This cream is thick, yet it absorbs and spreads on nicely so you don't need to use a lot -- which is a good thing since at nearly 90 bucks a pop, I don't want to have to buy a new jar each week. It may be a crazy amount of money, but we all have our Achilles' heels when it comes to beauty and for me, it's my neck.
