Step aside Kardashians, move out of the way Madonna, there's a new celebrity clothing line coming to stores and it's not frilly.

Hey, I love Betty White just as much as the next person, but is Betty getting too Betty White happy? What will she come out with next? A Betty White fragrance with undertones of moth balls? (Though I wouldn't be surprised if that one sold too.) While she is the poster child (woman?) of aging gracefully with her natural beauty, I can't imagine wearing Betty's face on my body.
The line is exclusively licensed with Jerry Leigh Apparel, a California-based clothing manufacturer and will be in stores come August with T-shirts selling at $28 and hoodies at $48. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Morris Animal Foundation, just like White's very own calendar which is coming out in September. The calendar features White in animal-print clothes or surrounded by shirtless men or both. While I was all for the calendar, which should sell like hotcakes at $12 a pop, the semi-pricey hoodies don't seem like a good business venture although Leigh Apparel thinks otherwise.
"With Betty dedicated to her philanthropic efforts with the Morris Animal Foundation, we knew this venture would be a good fit and it would appeal to the general public and Betty White's extensive fan base," said president Andrew Leigh to AOL StyleList.
While clearly, with the attached digital accessories and the graphic designs, the street-wear line is meant for youth; what 17-year-old would be caught dead wearing a T-shirt with Betty's face on it? No matter how extensive Betty's fan base may be, does it really reach to the teens? I can't imagine any teenager getting away with wearing Betty's sweet face plastered on their chest.
Though I'm not too hot for White's new fundraising ploy, it's no secret how much we adore the 88-year-old muffin. She appeared on Saturday Night Live with Jay-Z and gave the TV show its highest ratings in 18 months. Soon after, she landed a gig with the TV series, "Hot in Cleveland," which airs on TV Land every Wednesday at 10 PM, 9 central.
And now the question begs to be asked, will you be wearing White?
