Stepping into big shoes left by previous hosts, the actors prepare for what could be the biggest roles of their careers
James Franco and Anne Hathaway Named Oscar Co-Hosts
"What we have here are two really emerging talents who are very respected and are going to have, I think, magnificent careers," Mischer told AP. "They deserve to be there, they've got the chops to be there, they want to be there, and I think that's going to make the audience really relate to them."
Plus, they're funny. Franco was great as the loveable stoner in "Pineapple Express" and Hathaway was perfectly clumsy in "The Devil Wears Prada." And, of course, they've both nailed their "Saturday Night Live" hosting gigs and they aren't too hard on the eyes either. Franco has an avid fan base and Hathaway's natural beauty has long been heralded.
"What we do know is they both have a great sense of humor and a great sense of comedy," Mischer continued.
Indeed, but in light of past hosts (Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, Johnny Carson) do you think Cohen and Mischer made the right choice plucking these young stars for Hollywood's biggest telecast? Who would you pick?
