"Pirates of the Caribbean" star Orlando Bloom and his longtime Victoria's Secret model girlfriend, Miranda Kerr, have gotten engaged. With her looks and body, and his handsome face, can you imagine how cute their kids will be?
Millions of Men Ogle Her Body But Orlando Bloom Has Won Miranda Kerr's Heart - They're Engaged!
The pair, he's English and 33, she's Australian and 27, have been dating for three years and have long dodged engagement rumors, but, now it's official -- Bloom asked for her hand over the weekend and her family, according to People magazine, is ecstatic about the pending nuptials. "The entire Kerr family is thrilled with the news," the model's rep, Carlii Lyon, told the magazine. "It is a very exciting time for both of them."
Kerr, who began her modeling career at 13 after winning an Aussie model search co-sponsored by Dolly magazine and Impulse fragrances, was the first-ever Australian Victoria's Secret Angel and has been known for her amazing body ever since taking to the runway and donning those famous wings in 1997.
Wonder what the body care regimen of some one who struts her stuff in itsy-bitsy pieces must be?
The impossibly flawless figure is by no means an accident. As Kerr told E! Online in March, "The first step is eating healthy. I predominantly eat organic when I can. I eat extremely healthy because when I do, I have more energy. I love spinach, avocado, lots of greens and broccoli." But, if it makes you feel any better as you consider what you ate today, Kerr did say that she's "80 percent healthy, 20 percent indulgent," because she does't "believe in depriving yourself."
As for the controversy surrounding pin thin models and their responsibility to represent normal, attainable bodies, Kerr has a strong opinion, as she told E!, "Body image is something that the majority of young women struggle with and I do think it is important that models are seen to be healthy and at a weight that works for their body type."
When it comes to her perpetual golden tan Kerr's the first to admit that the majority of it is spray on. And, when it comes to getting the most natural, even color, Victoria Secret's resident tanning guru Meredith Baraf recently told Elle magazine, The most important thing to do is exfoliate," she explained. The outer layer of the epidermis, which is what the self-tanner interacts with, is composed of dead skin cells that last only seven to 10 days before they shed. You want to make sure you have an even layer of dead skin cells so that they all tan and slough off together.
And, lest you feel less than gorgeous, consider this. According to an interview her trainer, Justin Gelband, gave to the website "How Celebrities Lose Weight," Kerr and the other Angels get their (awesome) butts to the gym 3-4 times a week and workout for 75 minutes each time! Gelband told the site that an ordinary day at the gym for Kerr would involve a warm-up, a 2.5 mile run, then some boxing, or weight/extension work to maintain those gorgeous gams.
Listen, no one ever said that being a supermodel was easy work. You have to eat well, work out regularly and, oh yeah, you have to have won the genetic jackpot.
The good news for Kerr/Bloom fans - and there seem to be many who're pulling for them, is that Kerr dreams of things other than adoring fans and Lear jets. The girl seems to have her priorities in order, as she told People a while back, "My ideal situation would be to live on a farm in a solar-powered house with a hammock and a vegetable patch." "When this is all over," Bloom's fiancee said, "that's where I'll be. I've always wanted kids, so someday, eventually, yes, it will happen.
