Study Suggests Women Spend $13,000 on Makeup Throughout Their Life

But it appears that those fun little impulse buys can really add up over time. A study conducted by Superdrug that surveyed over 3,000 women found that most makeup-wearers begin to purchase cosmetics at the age of 16, and spend nearly $40 per trip, according to "Yahoo Shine."

After 65 years of consistently wearing makeup, a woman will have dropped nearly $13,000 in total on her preferred products.

Researchers also uncovered that most women, 70 percent, would never leave the house without a little face makeup and that 68 percent claim that makeup makes them feel more confident, the news source reports.

When you think about how much you spend on coffee or other necessities, $13,000 for a lifetime of confidence doesn't seem that bad.
