New Jersey Housewife, Caroline Manzo, Shaves Her Face - Skin Care Revelation or Just Weird?

People have done some wacky things in the name of beauty, but "Real Housewives of New Jersey" matriarch, Caroline Manzo, may have outdone them all. This season on the reality show, the no-nonsense redhead revealed her skin care secret: She shaves her face. That is not a typo.

Manzo, 49, shaves her entire face and throat in the shower every morning. The question begs to be asked: Why? Is she super hirsute? Nope. It exfoliates her skin.

"I have beautiful skin, it's to exfoliate!" she recently exclaimed to host Andy Cohen during the incendiary first part of the "RHoNJ" reunion show. The affable Cohen had read an email from a viewer wanting to know if she really did shave daily and Manzo didn't miss a beat. She owns it.

Manzo's not the only one who thinks that exfoliation is the key to youthful skin. Christie Brinkley has long said that the reason men's skin seems to age less quickly than women's is that they shave and the supermodel is a strong proponent of exfoliation -- although whether or not she actually whips out the Mach III remains under wraps.

And, while Manzo really does have a beautiful complexion, she's also been in the news lately for something that took a lot more work than raking a razor across her face. The reluctant empty nester recently revealed her amazing 25-pound weight loss. Earlier this year we saw that Albert, Manzo's husband of 25 years, had lost an enormous amount of weight and now the mother of three grown children has followed suit. Attributing the weight loss to "portion control," Manzo looked pleased as punch when Cohen complimented her on her new svelter self.

Part two of the highly anticipated reunion airs tonight on Bravo.
