Get top tips for toes in the Miami-metro area

For Miamians, the pedicure "season" is 365 days a year. Fabulous feet are first and foremost on the beauty agenda, as toes are exposed constantly, whether in wedges, thongs or espadrilles. Keeping that open-toed atmosphere in mind, it’s only natural that there are a plethora of places to perfect your peds. The question is: which one to choose, and then use often and abuse (for the ease and awesomeness)? We did the dirty work for you, investigating and experimenting to ultimately hand-pick the salons and spas that treat feet like the fantastic, first-rate finale to your bod that they are. These four passed our grade in terms of cleanliness, care and charisma (and oh, some are uber clever in their technique and style too). Step on in to:

What you can get for $22 in Miami: one (and a half) martinis, an appetizer portion of crab legs, one quarter of a beach cabana for one hour, and…a pedicure, compliments of DK Nails on Sunset Drive. At DK Nails, feet are treated to an ultimate retreat, where trimming, massaging and polishing are on the plan. Warm towels in tow and tons of gorgeous shades to boot, this stop is one you’ll want to stash in your little black book for trips to the beach.

Sixty-five minutes of pure bliss is priceless; why we’re obsessed with the Revival Pedicure at the Spa at Mandarin Oriental Hotel (on Brickell Key Drive). Inspired by ancient Thai healing therapies, this pedicure encompasses all things luxe about your lowest limbs: a warm compress relieves sore tootsies; cooling peppermint increases circulation; a lemongrass-based exfoliating scrub removes dulling, dry skin; glam polish to finishnails. Bonus: the spa pros give you a take-away foot cream to use at home, on your own, to duplicate the incredible experience. While the price is hefty ($120), your feet will feel light post pedicure.

Visiting Miami for a long weekend getaway? Book a stay at the Viceroy simply for this in-room delight: Blooming Flower Ritual for Feet. For $130, a nail tech will service your soles bedside, balcony side or even on your couch, using Chinese jasmine and Indonesian ginger essential oils. The focus of this pedicure is on massage, utilizing vitamins A and E to smooth skin, but exfoliation, polish and cuticle care is part of the program, of course. Add on hands, too, for a bit more time and money. Can’t stay? No worries. Get the same foot treatment in the spa for $80.

Nothing says Miami like an umbrella or salt-laden cocktail, ala margarita or mojito. Enjoy a drink-inspired (and infused) pedicure at Brownes & CO, where lime, salt, mint and citrus are the essentials to the nail care here. The space is bright, open, sleek and cool – the pedicures follow suit. Brownes & CO has an upscale energy with unpretentious staff and patrons, a plus when you’re getting pampered, peds and shoulders alike. Visit the apothecary at one of their two Miami-metro locations: South Beach and Lincoln Road.
