Makeup Tutorial: Liquid Eye Makeup Lesson
Tricky? Yes. But with this liquid eyeliner shortcut even the shaky-handed can do a sleek cat eye for a glamorous look.
Transcript
Before you start applying eye makeup, soak a few Q-tips in eye makeup remover so that you can correct mistakes right away. Gently pull your lid taut, and paint one continuous line of eye makeup from the inner corner out. If you find you can't paint the line on straight, draw several dashes, then connect them. If you miss spots between the lashes and the liner, use black mascara to cover the bare skin that still shows. The shiny texture matches well, and it's less risky than trying to repair with the liner.
Make sure the liner is visible when you look straight in the mirror. If the lines are too thin or they blend right into the lash line, you won't get a dramatic result. To get a super-dramatic cat eye, look at yourself straight in the mirror, then put a little "dot" just outside your outer corner to represent where you want the tail to end. If the dots on each side don't look even, just wipe one away with your Q-tip and start over. Then connect the line to the dot, and you'll have a great cat eye. Now just finish with mascara.

This is a good video but what about applying liquid eyeliner to the bottom? Probably the same but I'm one of those learners that needs to see it.

The idea of extending eye liner with a small dot is really innovative

I had to give a little chuckle when I first saw this. I have been using liquid liner exclusively since high school, circa the mid-1980s. We didn't have the Internet, and I was the only one of my friends brave enough for liquid liner so I had to figure it out on my own. I would caution against the pulling of your eyelid, however. You won't be young with taut skin forever, and the less pulling you do now, the less Botox you will need later (a lesson well-learned from my late grandmother). ;-)

The cat eye tutorial was also helpful. My eyelids have kind of a sagging look so cat eye for me is not easy. I like the more dramatic cat eye effect with bottom liner too. Thank you for the tips!

I can't do a cat eye as any line disappears into my crease (it comes down pretty low). I would almost have to go straight out to the side. :(

Thanks for the video. I struggle with a cat eye but I will try it again today after viewing this. I like the tip about doing dashes & then connect.

After verious research I purchased eyelash growth dermalmd serum because my eyelashes on my left eye were more sparse than my right. I read the review, so thought I would try it. I followed the instructions. I am just so impressed with the results I have now got. So impressed am I, I purchased a second for when my first runs out. I will definitely be purchasing again. Score out of 5, I think a 10. Excellent product.
