How to Copy Nicole Kidman's Sexy Wavy Hairstyle
Posted 04/06/11 at 04:17PM by Audrey Fine
Before she married Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman would've seemed mighty out of place at a country music event. That was then. Nowadays, those shindigs wouldn't seem proper without a dose of Aussie glam courtesy of the Oscar winner.
Take last Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards. New mommy Nicole was resplendent on the red carpet (nearly everyone agreed she was one of the evening's best dressed in this racy little L'Wren Scott number) due in no small part to her fabulous soft-waves courtesy of celeb hairstylist David Babaii.
Here's how to copy the look for your own high fashion fete. (Or neighborhood BBQ -- it works for any type of event.)
Step 1: Add a volumizing gel or spray to wet hair (try Herbal Essences Body Envy Weightless Volumizing Gel, $4.50). Then rough dry your hair using your fingers to create natural texture and volume.
Step 2: Once dry, part your hair on the side and divide it into four sections (both sides, the top and the nape of your neck).
Step 3: Wrap one-inch sections around two fingers (in lieu of a curling iron barrel) and pin each to your head.
Step 4: Give each curled piece a hot blast with your blow dryer then follow up with a cool shot to set the curls.
Step 5: Remove all the pins and finger comb your hair into soft waves and spritz with a light-hold hairspray to keep them looking beautiful all day/night long. (Try Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Hairspray, $2.99.)
There you have it; simple, sexy hair in no time.
Do you like Nic's hair like this? Or do you prefer the voluminous blowout she had at the "Just Go with It" premiere back in February?

my hair didn't hold that look well. I have very thick coarse hair. But the advice on "how to' was spot on.
